You cannot leave Thailand without exploring the wonders of its culinary world. Koh Samui happens to be one of the best places in the country to do so. Want to know more about the dishes?

1) Gaeng gai baan

An excellent dish that can be found amongst almost all street vendors, especially during lunchtime. Gaeng gai baan is a country style chicken curry dish that is displayed in large pots. Highlight ingredients include southern Thai curry paste and coconut milk. It’s best you grab this as soon as you can because it runs out fast.

2) Pla som tod

While you visit various restaurants in Koh Samui, you must not miss out on the street food. Pla som tod is a Thai version of preserved pickled fish. It is sour, salty and incredibly delicious, especially when its deep-fried. Best eaten with rice.

3) Nam prik kapi

While you’re staying at any one of the resorts in Koh Samui, such as the Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, seek out something called Nam prik kapi. This is a shrimp paste dip that is generally served alongside a plate of fresh vegetables like eggplant and cucumber.
