Thai Dishes are Different from Chinese Dishes
Different is Good
Asian cuisine is generally known for its exotic flavours and vibrant displays. Both Chinese and Thai food offer delicious Asian delicacies and is often confused with one another. Thus let us break down the key differences between Chinese and Thai food.
The inherent difference is that Thai cuisine often served in any part of Thailand from the streets in Bangkok to the best restaurants in Pattaya, some of which can be found at AVANI Pattaya Resort & Spa; is the national cuisine of Thailand, meaning it reflects the culinary style of Thailand. Whereas Chinese cuisine represents a combination of styles and cultures of Chinese people originated from various regions of the country.
It is also a significant factor that the staple ingredients of Chinese cuisine are rice or meat, whereas the staple ingredient of Thai food would be fish sauce. Thus naturally Thai cuisine is often served a variety of sauces of different flavours and sauce on Chinese food is always an option. Further Thai dishes are often hot, with a great deal of added spices unlike Chinese food, where spicy food is again an option.
Another remarkable difference between the two cuisines would be the use of ingredients which results in the significant variety of taste. Fresh produce is usually used in the preparation of Thai food. Whereas Chinese food are usually prepared from preserved ingredients.
The preparation Chinese food engages a lot of oils as Chinese people love fried stuff, not a very healthy option for food but it tastes good. Thai cuisine has a minimum use of oils.
In addition, presentation is taken seriously by Chinese chefs; it is in fact considered an art form, thus Chinese cuisine is often pleasing to the eye as it is to your taste buds. Thai food on the other hand focuses on taste than its presentation. Every Thai dish is a balance of bitter, sour, sweet and salty tastes which is a striking feature of this type of cuisine where as Chinese dishes just stick to one taste.
Both types of cuisine are exclusively delectable and as they represent the cultural and regional cooking styles of the two countries.
