Mashuni

This is a traditional local breakfast which you may come across when dining in Maldives. Made with smoked tuna, coconut with added chilies and lime to increase the flavour.

 

Dhon Riha

Directly translated this means “fair curry”. The curry is made out of fish or tuna and an exclusive paste made out of grated coconut, fennel seeds, ginger, and garlic. This is a local favorite and is rich in flavor.

 

Bis Keemiyaa

This is delightful snack made out of tuna. It is a pastry with a fish and egg filling, fried till it gains a golden crust.

 

Fihunu Mas

This is basically toasted fish in Maldives. It is, in fact, a well-dressed dish often garnished with slices of lime and is guaranteed to make the menu of most resorts including Maafushivaru Maldives.

 

Banbukeylu Harisa

This is colourful curry prepared with breadfruit. Made out of coconut, steamed breadfruit, onions and chilies, this is a dish best paired with a plate of rice.
