Chinatown Food Street
Enjoy Hawker style delicacies along the Chinatown Food Street
There are over 20 local delectable delights on offer. These include the likes of Ah Balling – a sticky white rice ball, stuffed with sesame, red bean or yam paste, usually served in ginger or sweet peanut soup – Char Kway Teow, which are essentially noodles fried in cockles. The various meat satays (skewered meat) should not be passed up either. Poh Piah – spring rolls – BBQ seafood are also more of the popular varieties of food found.
Of course if al fresco dining is not your cup of tea, or you prefer air conditioned comfort, then indoor cafes and restaurants are also available along this street. Among the fare offered in here, the hand made noodles and fish head served in a brandy soup deserve special mention.
