Around the world with Nine Chefs
The World Gourmet Festival organized by the Minor Hotels group is a highlight of the culinary calendar that every gastronomical adventurer looks forward to. Each year, the festival brings together a selection of highly sought after chefs to head one of the restaurants of Anantara Siam in a week-long festival. The World Gourmet Festival usually has alluring subsidiary events such as wine tastings and perfume pairings as well.
The 17th Annual World Gourmet Festival was held from 19th to 25th September 2016, converting Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel into a hotspot for those seeking the higher satisfaction of gourmet. This year, the star gallery of world-renowned chefs, according to the official media releases, included the Founder of two-Michelin star restaurant Chef Mauro Colagreco of France; the renowned cookbook author Bobby Chinn, who is also a Restaurateur, TV Personality as well as a Chef; the Chef and Co-Owner at Hiša Franko, Slovenia, Ana Roš; Dharshana Munidasa, the Founder of Ministry of Crab and Kaema Sutra from Sri Lanka; Chef Anthony Genovese of Rome; from Raffles, Singapore, Chef Kanesaka Shinji; Chef Hideaki Sato of Hong Kong; from Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, Chef Josean Alija; and Chef Marco Stabile of Italy. The 2016 Festival also included a Champagne journey, a perfume pairing event, a sake and cocktail master class, and concluded with a Sunday Brunch of such grandeur that its memory is sure to last until the next year.
If you are a person who is intrigued and allured by the fine arts of the culinary, then the World Gourmet Festival is a place where you would feel right at home. While the ticket prices may be at the higher end of the spectrum, there are early bird offers and such that you can make use of if you are looking for value for money. Nonetheless, with a clan of renowned Chefs coming together in the same premises to show-off their unique culinary skills, the World Gourmet Festival is a place where the heat of the kitchen reaches the diner.
